I love my iPhone!
Got an iPhone yesterday and I have to say it has really got me back into technology. Of late I have been pretty apathetic towards new technology for some strange reason it all just stopped exciting me. I think it's because it normally all seems so unfinished.
If you think about most of the technology we use in our every day lives it's pretty naff and as a result I have been fairly unimpressed by almost anything that comes along.
But Apple seems different, take my Apple MacBook if had it for a while now and the little things about that you forget like the magnetic power cord and the fact it doesn't burn my knee when I put it on my lap can soon be forgotten when you use it every day but it's these things that make Apple the kings of product design.
Word is spreading about it too. Take the conversation having the other day with one of my customers. He was asking about getting a new PC because his old one had broken. His wife having recently purchased her own MacBook Pro was already sold on Apple and was demanding the next computer was Apple too. We talked about the price difference between Apple and Dell and he was insisting, as I had once echoed to him that Mac's are not as compatible with Windows programs, so they should get another PC.
I found myself standing there thinking this excuse is all but gone now and things are turning around. The moment Apple teamed up with Intel and got a proper processor in their boxes I have become a total fan. So I had to stand there and say you get what you pay for. Granted Mac's are more expensive but you get so much more for it. Proper design, exceptional after sales support and they are concentrating on what they do best which is software things can only get better for Apple. They agreed and are buying an Apple at 4x the price of a Dell.
This is so clearly the case with the iPhone, the moment I turned it on when I left work for the first time with it last night the music i bought seconds earlier on iTunes brought joy to my ears. The interface has already converted me to text messages from a total hater of them because, I hate fiddly keypads. There's more; connectivity, the wifi and edge networks are a great combination I have Wifi everywhere I go and the speed is exceptional there. If I am on the move and there is no cloud hotspot I have edge and it isn't actually too bad at all I started with 9600 baud so am easily impressed). Lots of people are holding out for 3G but I don't actually need or even want it.
Sure there are a few improvements they could make but if I gave my customers a product like this I would expect them to love it just like I do and then go on to love contacting me to tell me what they want in the next software update and to expect me to deliver my feature wish list as I am sure Apple will.
I don't own any Apple stock it got a bit pricey but I really should and if I wasn't waiting for a bigger correction in cash I would be buying.
